To hang this picture of a beautiful Golden Deathlayer on your wall, with a notation of the breeds name, is guaranteed to draw inquisitive comments.  Although the Deathlayer name sounds ominous, it is nothing but a transliteration from the German language where the breed originated. The species portrays striking plumage and is very prolific as egg layers. One popular old wives’ tale states they lay right up until the time they die, which is a good yarn but still questionable.
