The American buffalo or bison was once the ruler of the great plains, with the species numbering in the hundreds of thousands.  As a source of life for native Americans, the animals were almost wiped out by the expansion of civilization.  Now making a comeback in small numbers, and for years the buffalo stood proudly on American nickel coins.  This artist’s tribal depiction would be a wonderful addition to your collection.
